In a very short interval of time, GB kehilangan 2 ikon bola sepak yang memberi impak kuat dalam dunia bola sepak dunia - David Beckham dan Alex Ferguson.
Both of them mengambil keputusan untuk bersara dari dunia bolasepak. Alex Ferguson (bukan Fergie Black Eye Peas ok!) has been serving Manchester United as pengurus pasukan for many years...berpuluh trofi dengan Treble Winning at the end of 90s membuktikan betapa beliau merupakan aset yang sangat bernilai untuk MUFC. Where else you can find a football manager who served a team for such a long period? Sehebat-hebat Roberto Mancini tu pun at last kena tendang keluar dari Man City after 3 yrs with that team... Ferguson akan diganti dengan David Moyes, hopefully he will continue the legacy of Manchester United.
I have been an avid follower and fan for Manchester United since my teenage years when David Beckham was a hot bloke dan menjadi pujaan not onky for his talent as a football player but his good look as well. Then was the time when Beckham poster was on my wall, my calendar was Beckham, my keychain was Beckham... pendek kata Beckham-mania lah!!! Masih terbayang-bayang dia berlari di atas padang dalam Red Devil jersey with his smiling eyes apabila free kick lencongnya berjaya menerobosi gol pihak lawan.
It was those years, the moment of glory until his relationship with Ferguson soured up and then Beckham melangkah meninggalkan MU.
But time goes by, after more than 10 years... tak sangka mereka decide untuk bersara pada penghujung musim yang sama. Ferguson masih kekal berkhidmat bersama Manchester United as one of the senior team, while Beckham dijangkakan akan meneruskan karier dalam bidang fesyen. It was good to see them praising each other....
Can't wait to see how next football season will be...
